BULK is a band that had to happen. Three friends who had been playing music together for years looked around one day and noticed that the rock music they loved – and a LOT of other people loved as well – was gone.

The pounding drums, loud guitars, and bass-centric sounds of the late 1960s and 1970s – with a strong resurgence in the Grunge movement of the 1990s – was the siren call that BULK heard and couldn’t refuse. Starting years ago as a cover band in Fresno, CA, their individual original songs have the influence of artists like the Foo Fighters, Tom Petty, U2, Deep Purple and the Doors all over them. There are also nods to the Beach Boys, Neil Young, Steve Miller, and many others. The attraction to rock music, specifically classic rock, was its amazing diversity, from the face-melting guitar riffs to rootsy mandolin melodies.

One of the oldest pieces of business advice out there is, “Find a need and fill it.” BULK simply couldn’t find the music they wanted to hear, so they started making their own. Truth be told, they made this music for themselves, but know there are others out there longing for a fresh take with a classic rock vibe.
